Inspire and Include
Inspire and Include is a project designed to encourage older disabled people to participate in sport
What is Inspire and Include?
Disabled people can find it more difficult than others to take part in sport and miss out on both the physical and mental benefits that participation in physical activity can offer. We want to remove some of the barriers that prevent older disabled people from participating and encourage people to lead a more active life.
This unique project offers a range of activities in which older disabled people can take part. The sessions are designed to be adapted to different people's needs and abilities. There is also a range of volunteering opportunities within the project which can work towards an accredited qualification.
Interested in being a participant?
Inspire and Include is currently being delivered in six locations across England and will be rolled out to more areas over the next two year. The activities are open to a wide range of people with one or more disability including those that are not necessarily obvious or physical such as a mental health problem.
If you want to get involved, or find out more about what's happening in your area, please contact your local Age UK directly.

How to volunteer
This project offers unique volunteering opportunities which can lead to an accredited qualification if the volunteer would like to be a part of the programme. The qualification will teach the volunteer a wide range of both transferable and specialist skills in communication, leadership and disability sports.
