Bereavement Support Project
The Bereavement Support Project at Age UK is providing advice and support to older people who have recently experienced or are expecting to experience a bereavement.
What is the Bereavement Support Project?
Our Bereavement Support Project will deliver holistic, one-on-one advice sessions to older people who have recently experienced or are expecting to experience an imminent bereavement.
Bereavement causes a range of complex emotions and changes in personal circumstances. Our research has shown that, in many instances, the Coronavirus pandemic has worsened the effect a bereavement has. As we rebuild from the pandemic, the need for specialist bereavement support for older people has never been so urgent. Our skilled advisors will provide practical support to help people cope with their grief, help them feel less alone and get the most out of their later life.
Where is the programme running?
The Bereavement Support Project is being delivered by four local Age UKs across England, running from August 2022 to July 2024.
