Caroline Abrahams, Charity Director at Age UK said: “The Back to 60 and WASPI campaigns have played a massive role in highlighting the unfair rises to State Pension Age. Whilst they have lost the case today they have made it significantly harder for any government to accelerate State Pension Age rises in the future and for this we thank them.
“The rise to State Pension Age has left many older women in great hardship, especially those who have been unable to work due to ill health problems, caring responsibilities or because they cannot find a job in their 60s.
“The Government must look at how to better protect these groups who cannot work until their rising State Pension Age and do a much better job in communicating changes to state pensions to make sure we are all fully informed about our future pension income and can plan our lives and retirement accordingly.”
