Responding to Jeremy Hunt's Statement on NHS breast cancer screening, Caroline Abrahams, Charity Director at Age UK said:
'I’m sure many older people will be worried to hear this news and we would certainly encourage anyone that’s concerned to contact their GP.
'You are most likely to be diagnosed with cancer in later life with the majority of new cases occurring in people over 65 and over a third in people over 75. This highlights why it’s so important as we get older to take part in screening and to be aware of the signs and symptoms of cancer.'
