Age UK comments on a new report by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), ‘Ageing Population & Financial Services'.
Caroline Abrahams, Charity Director at Age UK said:
"This is a very welcome paper and we are delighted that the regulator is taking a strong lead in this area. The breadth of the recommendations demonstrate the extent of the challenge.
When people cannot access essential financial services that meet their needs they suffer increased risk of abuse and scams and cannot make the most of their money.
Many of the issues raised in this paper are not new and the examples of best practice that are included show that industry is capable of delivering much more for older people."
