Sheila Hancock, June Whitfield and Penny Smith gather for a star-studded Christmas concert to raise funds for Age UK.
A host of celebrities including Sheila Hancock, June Whitfield and Penny Smith will be adding some extra sparkle to Age UK's A Star For Christmas carol concert, which takes place at St Pancras Church, London, at 6.30pm on Thursday 9th December
Tickets have now gone on sale for the festive celebration, which includes celebrity readings, show-stopping choirs, and timeless carols, as well as the opportunity for guests to mingle with the event's star performers afterwards with wine and mince pies.
A Star for Christmas is supported by the Age UK ‘Stage for Age' committee: the Charity's celebrity fundraising arm. The evening is one of the events taking place as part of Age UK's Spread The Warmth campaign, which aims to help people in later life stay warmer this winter. Funds raised through the event will help ensure that Age UK can continue to make a difference to the lives of thousands of people in later life who are dreading the cold weather this winter.
The event's compère, Penny Smith, said: 'A Star For Christmas is the start of Christmas for me. Seeing the scrumptious church lit up with candles and decorations, I can't help feeling Christmassy. Taking part in A Star for Christmas is the most gorgeous way to kick-start the festive season while helping older people at a time when many need it the most.'
Tickets are on sale now and are priced at £20.00 each with discounted tickets available for children and the over-60s priced at £10.00. To book tickets, please call 0207 239 1922 or email events@ageuk.org.uk. Tickets will also be available to purchase at the event.
