Age UK named Churchill Retirement Living's Charity of the Year
Age UK, the leading Charity for older people, has been named Churchill Retirement Living's Charity of the Year. The UK's fastest growing private retirement house builder will fundraise for the Charity with the aim of raising as much as possible for people in later life and donating over £100,000.
Money raised will go towards funding Age UK's vital work to make later life better for everyone both nationally and locally through local Age UKs.
Age UK provides information, advice, practical services and campaigns on the issues that matter to people in later life. Its free advice line is open 365 days a year and provides essential information on a wide range of issues, from claiming benefits and finding the right care to staying fit and healthy or getting online.
As part of the partnership Churchill Retirement Living has sponsored Age UK's ‘Winter Wrapped Up' guide, an important resource to help older people prepare for winter, which includes tips on keeping well and staying warm in winter and a thermometer to check room temperatures are kept at recommended levels.
Laurie Boult, Head of Fundraising at Age UK, said: 'We are delighted and proud to have been chosen as Churchill Retirement Living's Charity of the Year.
'The funds raised by Churchill Retirement Living will go towards national and local projects, helping older people to be part of their community and make the most of the local services available to them.'
Spencer McCarthy, Chairman and Group Managing Director of Churchill Retirement Living, said: 'I'm delighted with the partnership and feel that the charity is a perfect fit for the business.
'At Churchill Retirement Living we aim to give those over 60 an independent, sociable and active lifestyle. We carefully selected Age UK as our partner as we share similar objectives with regards to supporting the older generation and we hope to increase the awareness of the vital work it produces.'
