Nominations for campaigns award now open

Do you know an older person campaigning to improve society at a community, national or international level? If so, they would be a perfect candidate for the 2013 Take Action Award, run by the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK) and sponsored by Age UK.
The award will be given to a campaigner who is aged 60 or older, and taking action on an issue that matters to them. Previous winners and finalists campaigned on issues such as tackling doorstep lenders, preventing prostate cancer, and preserving ancient woodland.
The awards celebrate people who want to make a difference and want some support to get results. The winner will attend an inspiring residential skills-building weekend, receive one-to-one help and advice from experienced campaigners, and much more.
