40% worried about next power bill

Forty per cent of people are worried they cannot afford their next power bill, according to new research commissioned by Citizens Advice (CA).
The body said it had helped people who had struggled with more than 96,000 fuel debt problems last year.
The CA also found that a third of people do not know that energy firms offer support to people to insulate their properties. Its findings were unveiled at the start of its Big Energy Week campaign, which seeks to help people save on their bills.
CA chief executive Gillian Guy said: 'We know hikes in prices have put extra pressure on people's budgets at a time when money is already tight. Day in day out our bureaux help people who can't afford their fuel bills.
'We're worried that some people are struggling unnecessarily because they're not on the best deal, live in homes that haemorrhage heat or are not getting all of the financial help available to them.'
The CA added that savings of up to £200 a year could be made in households if they would only look for a different supplier.
