How to be an executor information guide

Sorting out the wills and estates when someone dies may be the last thing on your mind, or it may be a welcome distraction. However you’re feeling, if someone has asked you to be the executor of their estate, there are things you need to do after their death.

This guide explains the steps you need to take as an executor and where to turn to for help if you need it. It covers:

  • paying any Inheritance Tax.
