We're delighted to announce that BBC Radio 1 Host and Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Dev Griffin, has come on board to support Age UK as a Celebrity Ambassador.
Sharing the wisdom of older people
In the last year, Dev has been working closely with Age UK both locally and nationally to create a special series of podcasts, which will be available later this year.
In the series, he'll be interviewing members of Age UK East London's Bow Belles and Age UK Oldham's LGBT Out and About group. Dev and his guests will be talking about everything from wisdom and happiness to relationships, sexuality, mental health, loss and childhood.
Dev says: "This series is based around conversations I wish I had with my own grandparents who passed away before I could fully appreciate the knowledge and wisdom they acquired over their long and fascinating lives.
"I hope that these conversations bring older and younger generations closer together and promote similar discussions amongst all ages."
Words of encouragement
Caroline Abrahams, Charity Director at Age UK, says: "We're so thrilled to welcome Dev to Age UK, and know that his support will be invaluable.
"We truly appreciate Dev's commitment to getting to know older people, understanding their lives and struggles, and also getting to know Age UK at the same time.
"We look forward to continuing to work with Dev and are excited as he champions our cause and encourages his audience to perhaps see older people differently."
I am honoured to be an Age UK Ambassador. Over the last year I have spent time with some amazing older people who all have such incredible and different stories about love, friendship and life.
