Policy and Engagement
Age NI informs and lobbies local and Northern Ireland government to prepare and plan more effectively for the opportunities and challenges of our ageing society, and to ensure that older people’s issues are represented at the highest level.
Our Policy & Engagement team is challenging government to tackle the barriers of poverty and discrimination, and to improve health & social care provision. Successful campaigns have included working with our partners in the age sector to secure additional fuel payments and lobbying for an Older People’s Commissioner.
Lived Experience
Age NI wants to hear from older people about what’s important to them now and in the future. Our Lived Experience 2023 Report is now available - download it now and read the 2020 and 2021 reports.
Action Group on Loneliness Policy
We are delighted to be a member of the Action Group on Loneliness Policy. We are calling on the Assembly to develop and implement a strategy on loneliness for Northern Ireland.
Age NI Consultative Forum
The Age NI Consultative Forum was formed in 2010. The purpose of the forum is to identify the needs and concerns of older people (in relation to poverty, health, equality and other issues) and communicate these to Age NI.
All Party Group on Ageing and Older People
