Run for older people at one of the UK's fastest marathons and 10k races

This springtime you will have the chance to run at one of the UK's fastest 10k and marathon races and at the same time support older people in Wales. Age Cymru has teamed up with their local partner, Age Cymru Gwent and we have a number of places at this year's ABP Newport Wales Marathon and 10k, which takes place on Sunday 5 May 2019.

The ABP Newport Wales Marathon is a national race, boasting a fast, scenic route and arguably one of the UK's flattest marathons with more than 70% of participants claiming a Personal Best in 2018.

Starting and finishing on Newport's riverfront, the route offers iconic landmarks, coastal wildlife, picturesque medieval villages and an opportunity to experience the recently regenerated city-centre.

Last year nearly 10,000 runners signed up to take on either the marathon, 10K or the Family Mile in 2018, with more expected to join in 2019.

But running a race is about more than just PBs and having a fun time. It's also an opportunity to support the more vulnerable members of our communities.

In return we will provide you with a running vest, water bottle and post-race goody bag. And on the day, we'll also provide support from our cheering station to help you get round the course.

To join our team all you have to do is pay a £10 entry fee and pledge to raise £100 for the 10k race or a £20 entry fee and pledge to raise £200 for the marathon.
