Celebrate Age Positive Week with Age Cymru

Age Cymru and its partners and volunteers are celebrating everything that is positive about ageing in Wales between 30 September and 7 October.

So, if you or your community has an Age Positive event planned during the week, whether it be a tea party, a trip to the seaside, or a cultural celebration, then we would like to hear all about it.

Age Cymru's Events

Of course Age Cymru will itself be busy celebrating Age Positive Week. On the eve of the celebrations (September 29) we will be recognising the contributions made to Welsh life by retired police officers.

While on 2 October we will be organising two Nordic Walks simultaneously; one around Cardiff Bay and the other in Llanelli to help promote an activity that is ideally suited to improving the fitness and strength amongst older people.

We will be hosting a special event at the National Assembly for Wales on 4 October that focuses on transforming social care and combatting isolation and loneliness.

During the week we shall also be launching one of our most important guides: Help with heating costs which will help older people heat their homes economically in time for the on-coming winter months.

And no doubt we will at some stage during the week be visiting a venue full of cups of tea and delicious cakes!
