What Matters to You survey provides invaluable insights into the challenges, needs and aspirations of older people
Age Cymru and its partners have launched their fourth annual What Matters to You survey of the over 50s across Wales to gain a better understanding of their challenges, needs and aspirations.
Nearly four thousand people have responded to the previous surveys which has provided the charity with vital information to inform and influence key decision makers and service providers including the Welsh Government, local health and social services, and the wider care sector. It’s also helped the charity and its partners to campaign on the issues that matter most to people.
The survey delves into the experiences of older people such as those receiving health and social care, and those waiting for such services. It also looks into the lives of unpaid older carers and the experiences of older people in the workplace, including those seeking work in later life.
Age Cymru’s head of policy, Heather Ferguson says: “I am urging people to complete the survey because the more information we gather then the more influential we become when campaigning with and for people aged 50 or over across Wales.
“And if anyone would like to help us campaign on the issues raised in this survey, please let us know. We are always looking to work together to raise issues with the media, politicians, and many other key stakeholders. Please contact my colleague Michael Phillips for an informal chat on 07794 366 224 or email michael.phillips@agecymru.org.uk”
