Come and visit us during 5 – 12 August at stands 508 and 509
Age Cymru and Age Cymru Gwynedd a Môn are hosting a wide variety of local and national services, activities, and talks for older people in Wales at this year’s National Eisteddfod.
We’ll be demonstrating physical activities, including virtual cycling, that can provide older people with exciting exploration opportunities. We’ll also be demonstrating Tai Chi, an activity that has become hugely popular by helping to improve suppleness and core strength, making people more resilient to falls.
We’re hosting discussions on key issues for older people, with the local authority talking about what they are doing to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, and Dr. Catrin Hedd Jones, lecturer in Dementia studies, Bangor University will be focusing on the importance of providing support for Welsh speakers living with dementia.
And we’ll be showcasing lots of craft skills such as making personalised mugs and bags, crocheting, and icing cakes.
But perhaps you just want to chat about an issue that’s affecting you or a loved one. If so, pop in for a free cuppa and we’ll try to find the answers to your questions or at least point you in the right direction.
Age Cymru chief executive Victoria Lloyd says “We’re delighted to be working with Age Cymru Gwynedd a Mon to showcase the support that the Age Cymru network can provide and the issues of importance to older people in Wales.
“So, if you’re at this year’s Eisteddfod why don’t you visit us to see if we can help you or an older person you know.”
