The Big Knit

Every year, an army of woolly warriors take up their knitting needles and crochet hooks as part of the Big Knit for Age Cymru and we want you to join us.

What is the Big Knit?

The Big Knit is a partnership with innocent drinks. We've been working together since 2003, asking you to knit little hats for the tops of innocent smoothie bottles. Every hat knitted raises 25p to help Age Cymru provide much-needed services and support to older people.

But it takes a lot of little hats to make a really big difference - that's why we need as many people as possible to get knitting. On this page, you'll find everything you need to get started.

How to join in

Choose a pattern - we've some patterns for you to try. You can download these from below. Or feel to be creative.

Knit away - knit in front of the telly, or gather a group of friends and chat over the click-clack of needles.

Send us your hats

We've offices around Wales where you're able to drop-off / post your lovely creations to - details can be found under the patterns below.

Please drop-off or post your hats to one of the Age Cymru Partnership offices below.

Tell us your story - we'd love to send you a thank you card for your hats. If you'd like that too, and you want us to update you on all things Big Knit, include a note with your hats telling us your name and address. Let us know your knitting stories and why you're taking part in the Big Knit, too.
